The Graduate Certificate in Mathematical Science is designed to prepare you to teach college-level mathematics to high school or college-level students. All required courses will be offered to accommodate online learning by posting recorded lectures and offering scheduled online problem sessions and office hours.
Total Credit Hours Required:
18 Credit Hours Minimum beyond the Bachelor’s Degree
Students must take 9 credit hours of required courses and 9 credit hours of elective courses.
Courses: 9 Credit Hours
Students must choose three courses from the following list.
- MAA 5210: Topics in Advanced Calculus (3 credit hours)
- MAS 5145: Advanced Linear Algebra and Matrix Theory (3 credit hours)
- MTG 5253: Introduction to Differential Geometry (3 credit hours)
- MAA 6405: Complex Variables (3 credit hours)
- MAT 5712: Scientific Computing (3 credit hours)
- MAP 5426: Special Functions (3 credit hours)
Elective Courses: 9 Credit Hours
Students should take three graduate-level courses offered by the UCF Mathematics Department.

Admission is open to those with a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. An application to the graduate certificate program and official transcripts must be submitted. Applicants must apply online. All requested materials must be submitted by the established deadline.
