Does that mean I will qualify for residency for tuition purposes?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is not classification as a Florida resident for tuition purposes, but a waiver for which eligible students can apply. The student will still be classified as a nonresident for tuition purposes.<\/p>\n<p>Florida high school graduates who do not meet requirements for Florida Residency for Tuition Purposes, but who do meet the following conditions, are eligible for a waiver of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/out-of-state-college\/\">out-of-state<\/a> tuition and fees as dictated by F.S. 1009.26(12)(a):<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Attended a secondary school in this state for three consecutive years immediately before graduating from a high school in this state;<\/li>\n<li>Apply for enrollment in an institution of higher education within 24 months after high school graduation; and<\/li>\n<li>Submit an official Florida high school transcript as evidence of attendance and graduation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The waiver is applicable for 110 percent of the required credit hours of the degree or certificate program for which the student is enrolled.<\/p>\n<p>A student who is granted an out-of-state fee waiver under this subsection is not eligible for state financial aid, which includes Bright Futures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> Eligible students must apply for this waiver by the first day of classes.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<a class=\"btn btn-primary\"\n\t\t\thref=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/admissions\/undergraduate\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2025\/04\/OSS-Waiver-for-FL-HS-Graduates-03-2025.pdf\"\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\tApply for Waiver\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\n","protected":false},"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"tags":[],"class_list":["post-6120","faq","type-faq","status-publish","hentry","topic-cost-fees-financial-aid"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.9 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>FAQ:I&#039;ve heard about legislation for an out-of-state waiver for tuition purposes for nonresident students graduating from Florida high schools.
