Modified recreation and wellness operations will resume in the fall with measures to support reduced virus transmission. These include adjusted hours of operation, facility layout changes and restrictions, and continued remote exercise classes and personal trainings.
Intramural sports and sports clubs will be gradually reintroduced over the course of the fall semester with approval from university leadership, and appropriate health and well-being measures implemented.
Will there be a traditional commencement ceremony this summer?
The State University System of Florida has directed UCF and all state universities to develop alternate plans for summer commencement ceremonies. Regrettably, this means UCF will be unable to host a traditional ceremony for our summer graduates until it is safe to do so.
We understand that commencement ceremonies are a major milestone in the lives of our graduates and the loved ones who have supported them on their educational journey. That’s why we are working with Student Government to ensure that we creatively celebrate our students’ accomplishments on August 1. We will share more information as soon as it’s available.
As with the Spring 2020 virtual commencement, this acknowledgement is meant to complement, not replace, the traditional ceremony. We are committed to rescheduling traditional Summer and Spring commencements at a future date.
What about fall commencement?
No decision about fall commencement has been made at this time.
Will in-person events and activities return in the fall?
University-sponsored events and programs will be done virtually wherever possible without loss of effectiveness, including recruiting for Greek and student organizations, and follow CDC and public health guidelines, which may evolve during the semester.
Registered student organizations will be required to submit safety plans for their requested in-person activities, including meetings, events and programming.
Are campus tours and information sessions still happening?
UCF Admissions has made the difficult but necessary decision to suspend our Campus Visit Experience, including campus tours and information sessions, until further notice. UnionWest tours at the UCF Downtown campus and campus tours at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management have also been suspended at this time.
The Duke Energy UCF Welcome Center and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions is closed to the public until further notice. Reach out to us via email (email@example.com) or direct message us on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter (@UCFadmissions) if you have questions or need assistance.
Are shuttles running?
All routes and shuttles have been suspended until further notice.
Is the Creative School for Children still open?
With UCF’s strategic plan to depopulate campus, CSC is following this plan and will be closed Wednesday, March 18 through this period of remote instruction. Any information about reopening will be shared directly with families.
