UCF and Creative Village are examples of a new urban campus model that’s driving innovation districts around the country.

“The great new American university is by definition urban,” Creative Village developer Craig Ustler told Forbes last month. “That’s where the market is, that’s where the market wants to be educated, and that’s where all the intelligence and the diversity and brainpower is concentrating.”

The downtown campus UCF will share with Valencia College will be located in the 68-acre-master-planned Creative Village development, west of Interstate 4. In addition to the Dr. Phillips Academic Commons, the campus will feature privately developed student housing with academic, student support and retail space.

When it opens in Fall 2019, the campus will bring 7,700 students to downtown Orlando — and help drive further development in Creative Village and downtown Orlando.
