This act has implications for the administration of federally funded student aid starting on July 1, 2026. For more information on the impact on Federal Financial Aid visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/financial-aid\/upcoming-federal-changes-impacting-financial-aid\/\">Federal Changes Impacting Financial Aid<\/a><\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container my-4 my-sm-5\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n<p class=\"lead\">The Pell Grant is available to degree-seeking undergraduate students who have never received a baccalaureate degree.<\/p>\n<p>The Pell Grant Program is the largest of the Federal Student Aid grant programs and provides a \u201cfoundation\u201d of financial aid to which assistance from other federal and non-federal sources may be added. The Pell Grant is available year-round.<\/p>\n<p>The maximum annual Pell Grant for the award year may change from year to year according to Congressional appropriation. Pell Grant eligibility is determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"mt-4 mt-sm-5\">General Eligibility Requirements<\/h2>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"row\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\" col-lg-8\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n<ul>\n<li>Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen<\/li>\n<li>Meet minimum enrollment requirements<\/li>\n<li>Be enrolled in your first undergraduate degree program<\/li>\n<li>Meet the Standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress<\/li>\n<li>Not be in default on a federal student loan<\/li>\n<li>Not owe money on a federal student grant<\/li>\n<li>Certify that you will use your federal financial aid for educational purposes<\/li>\n<li>Pell Grant eligibility is determined by the Student Aid Index (SAI) and the formulas established by the U.S. Department of Education to determine the minimum and maximum Pell eligibility.<\/li>\n<li>Must fall under the 600% LEU (<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/understand-aid\/types\/grants\/pell\/calculate-eligibility\">Lifetime Eligibility<\/a> Used) threshold.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\" col-lg-4\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<section class=\"ucf-section ucf-section-general-eligibility-callout mb-4 mb-md-5\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"card card-outline-info\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"card-block d-flex align-items-start\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n<span class=\"lead mr-3 d-flex align-items-start\">\t\t\t<span class=\"fa fa-info-circle text-info\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span>\n\t\t<\/span><br \/>\n<span>Before you apply for any type of financial assistance, make sure you meet the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/financial-aid\/receive\/eligibility\/\">general eligibility requirements<\/a>.<\/span><br \/>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n<h2 class=\"mt-4 mt-sm-5\">How to Apply for the Pell Grant<\/h2>\n<p>Determination of Pell Grant eligibility requires submission of the <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)<\/a>. For consideration for Pell Grant and other types of federally funded aid, the FAFSA must be completed annually.<\/p>\n<p>You should start by submitting a <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)<\/a> form. You will have to fill out the FAFSA form every year you\u2019re in school in order to stay eligible for federal student aid.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"mt-4 mt-sm-5\">Pell Grant Lifetime Eligibility<\/h2>\n<p>The amount of Federal Pell Grant funds a student may receive over his or her lifetime is limited by federal law to be the equivalent of six years of full-time Pell Grant funding (or 12 full-time sections). Learn how <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/understand-aid\/types\/grants\/pell\/calculate-eligibility\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pell Grant Lifetime Eligibility<\/a> is calculated.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"mt-4 mt-sm-5\">Pell Grant Funding<\/h2>\n<p>Amounts can change yearly. The maximum Federal Pell Grant award is <strong>$7,395<\/strong> for the <strong>2025\u20132026<\/strong> award year (July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026) and <strong>$7,395<\/strong> for the <strong>2026\u20132027<\/strong> award year (July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027)<\/p>\n<p>The amount you get, though, will depend on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Expected Family Contribution<\/li>\n<li>Beginning with the 2024-2025 aid year, Pell Grant eligibility will be determined by the Student Aid Index (SAI) and the formulas established by the U.S. Department of Education to determine the minimum and maximum Pell eligibility.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/financial-aid\/cost\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cost of attendance<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Status as a full-time or part-time student<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"card bg-faded border-0 my-4\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"card-block p-4 p-sm-5\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n<h3 class=\"h4 mb-3\">Pell Grant Eligibility When Cost of Attendance Is Fully Met<\/h3>\n<h4 class=\"mb-4 mb-sm-5 text-danger-aw\">Effective July 1, 2026<\/h4>\n<p>Beginning <strong>July 1, 2026<\/strong>, students who are otherwise eligible for a Federal Pell Grant may <strong>not<\/strong> receive a Pell Grant if their <strong>Cost of Attendance (COA)<\/strong> is already fully met through other <strong>gift aid<\/strong>, such as grants or scholarships.<\/p>\n<p>Under this federal rule:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If a student\u2019s COA is completely covered by grants, scholarships, or other non\u2011repayable aid, <strong>the student will not receive a Pell Grant for that aid year<\/strong>, even if they meet all other Pell eligibility criteria<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n<h3 class=\"h4 mt-4\">Year-Round Pell<\/h3>\n<p>In certain situations, an eligible student can receive up to 3 Full-Time Terms of Pell Grant within a given academic year or 150% of a student\u2019s scheduled Pell Grant award for an award year. Each Full-Time Semester counts as 50% towards a student\u2019s 600% Lifetime Eligibility Used.<\/p>\n<p>After a student has used 100% of their Pell Grant eligibility in a given award year or the equivalent of 2 Full-Time semesters of Pell Grant (Fall semester counting as 50% and Spring semester counting as 50%), in order to be eligible to receive an additional 50% of Pell Grant funding students must be registered for a minimum of 6 credits (half-time enrollment). Please be aware that the additional 50% of Pell Grant eligibility will be prorated based on enrollment\u00a0 and will count toward the students 600% Lifetime Eligibility Used (LEU). See examples below.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"row my-4\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\" col-lg-8 offset-lg-2\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"card mb-4\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"card-header bg-faded pt-4 pt-md-5 pb-lg-4 px-lg-4\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n<h4 class=\"h6 heading-underline\">Example 1<\/h4>\n<p>Ima
