Recruitment is now open for the 2027 Spring Legislative Session. Applications are due on September 20th 11:59PM and must be submitted through InfoReady for consideration.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Students selected for the program learn directly from legislative and lobbying staff through hands-on experience in the office.\u00a0This leadership opportunity emphasizes professional development, enabling students to acquire essential skills crucial for success in policymaking, governance roles, and public service.<\/p>\n

Application Requirements<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Be academically classified as a junior, senior, or graduate student as of January 2027.<\/li>\n
  • For Spring 2027 must be currently enrolled in academic courses at UCF, earning credits towards your graduation requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Willing to be nonpartisan<\/li>\n
    • Strong communication abilities, including speaking, writing, research, and computer skills<\/li>\n
    • Interest in, or knowledge of the legislative process<\/li>\n
    • Demonstrated ability to work with others in a fast-paced and highly visible environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t

      Benefits & Scholarship<\/h3>\n

      Each Legislative Scholar will be awarded a $3,000 scholarship for Spring 2027, in addition to having an all-inclusive apartment paid for and shared with a fellow Legislative Scholar in Tallahassee for the Legislative Session and reimbursement for travel expenses for one round trip to Tallahassee.\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t

      Credit Hours<\/h3>\n

      Students from any academic program can apply. The number of credit hours is determined by the academic program. \u00a0All students will pay for and receive credit hours at their current in state or out of state cost for the internship and will have a project or assignment determined by their academic program.\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n

          • Legislative Research and Response<\/strong>\n

            • Answer questions about your state legislators, their committee assignments, and a bill from the 2026 Regular Session.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
            • Resume<\/strong>\n

              • Submit a current resume (maximum two pages) that outlines your education, employment experience, leadership roles, campus or community involvement, and relevant skills or achievements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
