Important Notice for Applicants<\/h2>\n

Several mandatory events are scheduled throughout the PLC academic year. If selected, newly appointed council members are required to attend the following events, which take place immediately after selection:<\/p>\n

  • New Council Orientation<\/li>\n
  • New Council Retreat<\/li>\n
  • UCF Commencement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Application Requirements<\/h2>\n
      \n
    • Completed application packet<\/li>\n
    • Two letters of recommendation (at least one from a faculty member)<\/li>\n
    • Current resume<\/li>\n
    • Overall grade point average of 3.0 or better<\/li>\n
    • Must be degree-seeking students of junior standing or higher (60+ credit hours) by the end of the spring term in which you apply<\/li>\n
    • Must have demonstrated leadership ability through involvement in university and community activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t
      \n\t\t\t\t\n

      Tips<\/h2>\n
        \n
      • Focus on what interests you and makes you unique.<\/li>\n
      • Don’t be intimidated! It’s a serious job, but the fun starts in the interview.<\/li>\n
      • Showcase your love for UCF! Remember, PLC members are university ambassadors.<\/li>\n
      • Think about why PLC needs you, not why you need PLC.<\/li>\n
      • Start asking around for those letters of recommendation ASAP.<\/li>\n

        Purpose<\/h2>\n

        PLC members will extend the role of the presidency through their voice, contributions and values. They will represent the diverse, energetic and creative identity of the University of Central Florida while using this platform to intentionally develop personal leadership skills and enhance the campus community.

        Expectations<\/h2>\n

        As a member of the President\u2019s Leadership Council, students will engage in the role of \u00a0university ambassador \u2014 while developing critical leadership skills. Activities and events related to this role will challenge students to grow professionally and personally. By participating in these activities, each member will complete 125 hours of service, training and event work.
