That\u2019s part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/update-on-our-return-to-more-normal-operations\/\">university\u2019s plan to return largely to a pre-COVID environment beginning June 23<\/a>, which is just before the start of the Summer B academic term.<\/p>\n<p>As of that date, physical distancing requirements will be eliminated, and full participation will be allowed at UCF athletic and social events. UCF has lifted the requirement to wear face coverings on campus. However, fans may still choose to wear face coverings.<\/p>\n<p>The decision to update UCF guidelines follows guidance from the Florida Board of Governors, which oversees the state&#8217;s 12 public universities, and is in collaboration with other State University System institutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe all anticipated a return to full capacity by fall, and this represents a vote of confidence in that plan and a notable step in that direction,\u201d says UCF vice president and director of athletics Terry Mohajir. \u201cThe combination of vaccination success stories and the low number of COVID cases on campus played into the decision to move to this position. We look forward to joining our alumni and fans in experiencing our 2021 football season in a packed and rocking Bounce House.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After selling its entire allotment of season football tickets for the 2019 season, UCF currently has sold 93% of available seats for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/ucf-footballs-2021-schedule-announced\/\">2021 season<\/a>. Knight fans can call <a href=\"tel:4078231000\">407-823-1000<\/a> for more information or to buy tickets.<\/p>\n<p>The Knights kick off the season at home against Boise State on either Sept. 2, 3 or 4.\u00a0 UCF returns 57 letter-winners to its 2021 roster \u2014 headlined by standout third-year quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who led the nation in passing (357.0 yards per game) in
