UCF was well represented at the three-day DEPS Advanced High-Power Laser and Beam Control Conference earlier this month.<\/p>\n

The annual conference showcases the best of High Energy Laser research and include 30-minute talks on a variety of topics.<\/p>\n

Seven doctoral students, a post-doctoral scholar and three faculty members represented UCF and its Center for Directed Energy. The center was established in 2020.<\/p>\n

Students Justin Cook and Nicholas Vail and Research professor Yehuda Braiman and courtesy research professors Kenneth Schepler and Nathan Bodnar presented papers on new laser developments.<\/p>\n

Students Juan Carlos Zacarias and Matthew Cooper and Post-doctoral Researcher Daniel Cruz-Delgado presented papers about on fiber laser technologies for directed energy.<\/p>\n

Students Layton Hall, Jessica Pena, and Haley Kerrigan along with post-doctoral researcher Danielle Reyes and courtesy research professor Kenneth Schepler presented on ultrafast lasers and their applications.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
