Current UCF freshmen were recently provided the opportunity to meet with their assigned advisors from First Year Advising & Exploration (FYAE) \u2013 plus start the process of looking ahead to sophomore year by meeting with advising staff from the colleges and Sophomore & Second Year Center (SSYC).<\/p>\n
More than 400 freshmen students attended \u201cCollege Connections: Advisors on Location\u201d held on April 1, 5 and 6 at the Academic Village (Hercules) Community Center and at the Student Union.<\/p>\n
“This event has been conducted for the past five years as collaborated through UCF\u2019s Academic Advising Council and thoroughly planned by representatives from Student Development and Enrollment Services’ advising units, and the college student support offices,” said Bob Snow, director for Sophomore & Second Year Center.<\/p>\n
Multi-term schedule planning was provided to student attendees through FYAE, including a review of remaining general education courses and of major courses and\/or information on support services provided by the college advising units. This offered students to connect with both their first year and future second year advisors.<\/p>\n
College Connections is a very important event for freshmen as they near completion of their first year. The event assists students in making a smooth and successful transition to the sophomore year by increasing awareness of advising support services.<\/p>\n
