W. Scott Cole, UCF’s vice president and general counsel, has been voted to the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) Board of Directors. Board members were selected by the association\u2019s members at an annual meeting this week in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n
Cole has served for eight years as UCF\u2019s chief attorney, and he previously worked for 10 years as associate general counsel at the University of Florida. He is a member of the NACUA Committee on Finance and Audit and its subcommittee on Investments. He also is a member of the Board of Directors for the Small Business Development Center, and he has served as corporate counsel for numerous university-affiliated nonprofit organizations.<\/p>\n
Cole is a multi-year recipient of the Florida Legal Elite award, earned by the top 1 percent of attorneys in Florida as determined by members of the Florida Bar.<\/p>\n
Board members were selected based on several criteria, including the quality and length of service to NACUA; prior experience on other nonprofit boards of directors or other relevant professional or volunteer experience; and the commitment and ability to work as an effective member of the NACUA leadership team.<\/p>\n
The National Association of College and University Attorneys aims to enhance legal assistance to colleges and universities by educating attorneys and administrators about the nature of campus and legal issues. \u00a0More than 3,600 attorneys representing about 700 institutions are members.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"W.
