With Chief Information Officer Matthew Hall\u2019s departure, UCF Provost Michael Johnson has appointed Sheila Amin Guti\u00e9rrez de Pi\u00f1eres, dean of the Burnett Honors College, to lead UCF IT in the interim.<\/p>\n
Amin takes on the Interim CIO role in addition to her duties with the Honors College. Amin first joined UCF as dean in 2018 from Austin College in Texas and was reappointed for a five-year term in April 2023.<\/p>\n
Her collaborative leadership, paired with her experience implementing systems and workflows to improve processes and customer service, will help to maintain UCF\u2019s high-quality IT operation.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy goal is to maintain the positive momentum UCF IT has built together and to ensure a smooth transition during this period,\u201d Amin says. \u201cWith support and collaboration, from UCF IT, I am confident that we will remain committed to UCF\u2019s goals and to delivering outstanding results for our community.\u201d<\/p>\n
Amin will coordinate a review of IT structures and operations using external CIOs, as well as some UCF personnel, in advance of the anticipated hire of a permanent CIO in early 2024.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
