The barbecue and straw poll will be the first sponsored jointly by the East Orlando and Oviedo-Winter Springs Regional chambers of commerce. The event will be held under the covered concourse at UCF\u2019s Bright House Networks Stadium from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3.<\/p>\n
The public is invited to join the candidates and local business leaders and enjoy food from Smokey Bones and complimentary beverages. In addition to the opportunity to hear speeches from the candidates, residents of both counties can cast their votes in a straw poll set up by the Seminole County Supervisor of Elections.<\/p>\n
The two-county, two-chamber approach gives candidates whose districts run across the county line the chance to interact with residents who might not be familiar with their campaigns.<\/p>\n
Admission is $20 in advance and $25 at the gate.
