{"id":17754,"date":"2010-11-12T13:20:15","date_gmt":"2010-11-12T18:20:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=17754"},"modified":"2019-07-01T16:51:20","modified_gmt":"2019-07-01T20:51:20","slug":"ucf-grad-to-speak-about-water-management","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/ucf-grad-to-speak-about-water-management\/","title":{"rendered":"UCF Grad To Speak About Water Management"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A University of Central Florida graduate returns to his alma mater Nov. 19 to share his experiences working on efforts to efficiently use water in a corporate environment.<\/p>\n<p>Joe Rozza, a resource manager for Coca Cola, will be presenting \u201cAchieving Global Water Resource Stability: A Corporate Perspective\u201d from 11 am to noon in the Engineering II Auditorium. The one-hour program is free and open to the general public.<\/p>\n<p>Rozza has been a leader in coordinating efforts involving environmental and sustainability initiatives within the public and private sectors since earning a bachelor\u2019s degree in environmental engineering at UCF in 1994.<\/p>\n<p>At Coca Cola Rozza is responsible for the lead water resource sustainability strategy within the Global Supply Chain for the company and franchise manufacturing operations across 23 operating units and nearly 300 franchise bottling companies covering 1,000 plants in over 200 countries. This includes program leadership, corporate strategy, governance, risk management, communications, capability development, business planning and senior management engagement among others.<\/p>\n<p>Rozza is excited to share his professional experiences, which include stints at the global engineering consulting firm CDM as well as Gresham Smith &amp; Partners. He has fond memories of his time at UCF, which included working as a research assistant in a study on corrosion inhibitors in municipal water distribution systems.<\/p>\n<p>The College of Engineering and Computer Science is home to the <a href=\"http:\/\/stormwater.ucf.edu\/\">Stormwater Management Academy <\/a> . The goal of the academy is to advance knowledge of stormwater, train professionals, and protect valuable waters.<\/p>\n<p>The lecture is part of the Civil, Environmental, &amp; Construction Engineering Department\u2019s Corporate Affiliate Board Lecture Series.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A University of Central Florida graduate returns to his alma mater Nov. 19 to share his experiences working on efforts to efficiently use water in a corporate environment.
