\u201cThis is a special honor,\u201d said Dr. Marcy Verduin, associate dean for students. \u201cThe award recognizes Ashley as an outstanding physician-to-be and a highly regarded classmate to her peers.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ashley said she was \u201ctouched to be selected by my classmates, my friends for this award.\u201d As a medical student, she said her experience is still limited but she believes the most important characteristic in patient care is \u201cto put the person before the disease.
