William Chatlos, a native of Bridgeport, Connecticut, was born in 1889 and learned the craft of drafting house plans during night classes at the YMCA.\u00a0 He built his first house at age 17 and continued building houses, apartment \u00a0and office buildings in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Florida until his death in 1977.\u00a0 In 1953, he founded The Chatlos Foundation, Inc.\u00a0 The foundation\u2019s mission is to proclaim the Glory of God by funding nonprofit organizations across the globe. The organization\u2019s areas of interest include bible colleges\/seminaries, religious causes, medical and social concerns and liberal arts colleges.<\/p>\n

To build premier academic programs in teaching, research and service, the College of Medicine must attract the best and brightest students.
