{"id":20963,"date":"2011-03-10T15:15:52","date_gmt":"2011-03-10T20:15:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=20963"},"modified":"2019-06-10T10:49:10","modified_gmt":"2019-06-10T14:49:10","slug":"ucf-symposium-to-focus-on-technology-in-health-care","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/ucf-symposium-to-focus-on-technology-in-health-care\/","title":{"rendered":"UCF Symposium to Focus on Technology in Health Care"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Regional representatives will discuss the impact of technology in health care at the seventh-annual State of Health Care in Central Florida Symposium at the University of Central Florida.<\/p>\n<p>The public is invited to attend the symposium at the FAIRWINDS Alumni Center, across the street from the UCF Arena, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 16.<\/p>\n<p>Panelists will discuss the ways technology is used to improve health care, such as the use of electronic health records and mechanisms for checking in and treating patients.<\/p>\n<p>Speakers on the panel include Andy Lee, chief scientist for Harris Healthcare; Rick Schooler, vice president and chief information officer for Orlando Health; Rajesh Toleti, CEO of PatientPoint; and Dr. James Palermo, chief medical and quality officer for Health First.<\/p>\n<p>The agenda also includes a networking session from 6 to 6:30 p.m. The event is free for UCF students, and the fee for UCF Alumni is $10. The cost for the public is $15.<\/p>\n<p>UCF\u2019s Health Services Administration Alumni Chapter is hosting the symposium.
