The Keeper of the Creed is an honor bestowed to select undergraduate students and select UCF faculty or staff who exemplify one of the five pillars of the UCF Creed. This distinction recognizes exemplary performance by UCF undergraduate students and faculty\/staff that embody one of the following:<\/p>\n

  • Integrity: Practices and defends academic and personal honesty.<\/li>\n
  • Scholarship: Cherishes and honors learning as a fundamental purpose of my membership in the UCF community.<\/li>\n
  • Community:\u00a0 Promotes an open and supportive campus environment by respecting the rights and contributions of every individual.<\/li>\n
  • Creativity: Uses their talents to enrich the human experience.<\/li>\n
  • Excellence: Strives towards the highest standards of performance in any endeavor they undertake.<\/li>\n

    Student\/Faculty\/Staff Nominations: Students are nominated by a current UCF faculty or staff member. Nominators are invited to submit the name of one student for a limit of two pillars. Undergraduate students with junior or senior standing at the end of the fall term (at least 60 credit hours) are eligible for selection as a Keeper of the Creed. Nominations should directly reflect why the nominee should be selected for that specific pillar.<\/p>\n

    Faculty or staff is nominated by currently enrolled UCF students. Nominators are invited to submit the name of one faculty or staff for a limit of two pillars.<\/p>\n

    The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 25, 2011 by 5 p.m.<\/p>\n

    Following the receipt of nominations, a separate selection committee comprised of university officials reviews and assesses each candidate’s nominations. Faculty\/staff will be selected on the thoroughness of the nomination. The recipients of the Keeper of the Creed will be awarded at the Student Development and Enrollment Services’ Appreciation Celebration on April 19.<\/p>\n
