I immediately ran out and got a passport,\u201d shares Storm.<\/p>\n<p>Her dish was a Chicken Sausage Stuffed Sweetbread and was served with Grand Marnier French toast, pea puree, pomegranate bourbon BBQ sauce, smooth cranberry chutney, maple glaze and sugared pomegranates.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_21150\" style=\"max-width: 300px;\" class=\"figure float-left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?attachment_id=21150\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-21150\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img size-medium img-fluid w-100 wp-image-21150\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/20\/files\/2011\/03\/Tapa-300x207.jpg\" alt><\/noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img size-medium img-fluid w-100 wp-image-21150 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" alt data-src=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/20\/files\/2011\/03\/Tapa-300x207.jpg\"><\/a><figcaption class=\"figure-caption\">Storm&#039;s Chicken Sausage Stuffed Sweetbread placed third at the international competition.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Prior to the event, Storm and Ashley enjoyed Spanish cuisine and culture, but also faced challenges. Ashley describes, \u201cHolly\u2019s main ingredient wasn\u2019t available and the kitchen was almost 75% smaller than what we have in the United States.\u201d Storm managed to persevere, fully utilize available resources and work under the pressure of camera crews and interviewers. \u201cYou keep smiling and say \u2018Gracias\u2019 a lot,\u201d she shares.<\/p>\n<p>The final stage of the competition took place Nov. 8th to 10th over two separate sessions. Competitors had two hours to create 13 portions of their selected tapas dish. The judging panel was comprised of some of the best chefs in Spain, and many have earned 1, 2 or 3 stars from Michelin guide and are experts in their fields.<\/p>\n<p>Storm recalls the moment she was announced as a winner, \u201cIt was totally shocking. I was happy to be there and to place was remarkable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The competition coincided with the week-long Tapas Festival, and Storm had the opportunity to participate in workshops and attend chef demonstrations and events throughout the week.<\/p>\n<p>Ashley shares, \u201cFrom the standpoint of a mentor, I couldn\u2019t have chosen a better candidate. Holly is professional, incredibly bright, intuitive and a true cullinarian.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Storm was honored to represent Rosen College, the only hospitality management program in the competition. \u201cIt\u2019s awesome to be a part of Rosen College and Professor Ashley was my support and backbone throughout the whole event. Now, when I interview for jobs, employers want to know more about the competition, so it is definitely opening doors.
