Three University of Central Florida advisers have been honored by the university\u2019s Academic Advising Council for their efforts to help students achieve their goals inside and outside of the classroom.<\/p>\n
Alton Austin, of the College of Nursing, was honored for leading innovation in the college\u2019s living and learning community. Abby Riggenbach, of the Office of Pre-Professional Advising, was named this year\u2019s exceptional new adviser. Mark Allen Poisel, formerly of Student Development and Enrollment Services, received the award for non-advisers who support advising.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo many of our professional and faculty advisers go beyond the call of duty for our students,\u201d said Rex Roberts, director of advising for the Burnett Honors College.<\/p>\n
\u201cMany have been recognized nationally for outstanding advising, administration and programming, which have contributed to more and more students graduating and achieving high levels of success both at UCF and as alumni,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The Academic Advising Council provides leadership and direction for UCF\u2019s advisers. The council is comprised of advising leaders from across the university who provide guidance, information and assistance to UCF students.<\/p>\n
