Think of your kid sister\u2019s science fair. Now multiply that by the 223 degree programs offered by UCF, boosted by the brainpower of the university\u2019s brightest students, combined with all the latest, cutting-edge student research under one roof. Welcome to Student Research Week.<\/p>\n
Here student researchers will present posters with their unique ideas to explore issues and tackle challenges in the community and beyond. Students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels will take part to show off their hard work.<\/p>\n
Graduate student research topics run the gamut and are sure to fascinate, including studies on a co-conspirator of Lincoln\u2019s assassination, global media coverage of the 2010 Gulf oil spill, prevention of laryngitis in singers and teachers, effects of GPS keyboard layouts, and how humans have impacted oyster reefs in Mosquito Lagoon.<\/p>\n
Student Research Week takes place from March 28 to April 1 at the UCF Student Union. All week long you can attend research workshops, view student presentations, and talk shop with student researchers. Workshops like \u201cEffective Grant Writing,\u201d \u201cNeed Help with Citations?,\u201d and \u201cCommunicating Your Research\u201d are designed to help graduate students become skilled researchers, while panel discussions open the floor to student questions.<\/p>\n
On March 29, visit the Graduate Research Forum to see how UCF\u2019s graduate students are taking on our future\u2019s biggest challenges. The week rounds up with the Showcase of Undergraduate Research Excellence on April 1. Students will be competing for scholarships to be awarded to the most distinguished projects.<\/p>\n
