Brian Crutcher, senior vice president and general manager at Texas Instruments, says it’s a great time be an engineer.<\/p>\n
The accomplished UCF alumnus will deliver an inspirational lecture about the multi-faceted engineering field this Friday, Sept. 9, from 1 to 2 p.m. in Room 101 of the Harris Engineering Center at UCF. His speech is part of the College of Engineering and Computer Science’s Distinguished Lecture Series. All are welcome to attend.<\/strong><\/p>\n Crutcher oversees all business aspects of Texas Instrument’s $2 billion Embedded Processing business, which includes the company’s digital signal processor and microcontroller product lines. The business produces the electronic processors\u00a0inside hundreds of electronics used every day, from appliances that reduce energy consumption to advanced visioning that makes cars safer.<\/p>\n Prior to his current position, Crutcher ran TI’s Microcontroller Products business and has held a number of positions in TI’s sales and applications organization throughout the U.S. In 2005, he was named vice president. He joined TI in 1995.<\/p>\n Crutcher earned a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from UCF and an MBA from the University of California, Irvine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Undeclared?
