On January 30, Provost and Executive Vice President Tony Waldrop invited the UCF community to show their support of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women\/National Wear Red Day.<\/p>\n
In Waldrop\u2019s campuswide email, he states, \u201cGo Red for Women empowers women to take charge of their heart health and gives them the tools they need to lead a healthy lifestyle. For nearly 25 years, I have been a strong supporter of the American Heart Association. Several members of my family have been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease, and I am among the many researchers nationwide who have worked tirelessly to find a cure. From nurses to sport fitness instructors and scientists, so many of you work hard every day to promote healthy lifestyles and to find a cure for cardiovascular disease. Thank you for everything you do for the health and well-being of our UCF family and our community.\u201d<\/p>\n
Red was a prominent color on campus on February 3, whether it was a tie, ribbon, shirt or dress. Many Student Development and Enrollment Services faculty and staff along with other UCF community members wore red to help raise awareness of cardiovascular disease, the number-one killer of women.<\/p>\n
