They fought for our country, now thousands of veterans find themselves fighting to find a job in this economy. In fact, the number of unemployed veterans is expected to grow as we continue to pull our troops from overseas. Many of them will return to Central Florida.<\/p>\n

To assist local veterans and their families in finding work, the College of Business Administration\u2019s Office for Career Connections, in conjunction with\u00a0OrlandoJobs.com<\/a>, is hosting an inaugural Central Florida Veterans Job Fair on Friday, February 22, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on campus, at the Venue.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the event is to match some of the best trained and highly motivated veterans with top employers from around the region while raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project. The service event is being organized and managed by MBA students enrolled in the one-year cohort program, which includes some veterans.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Tifany Alexander<\/strong>, an MBA student who will be coordinating marketing and promotion of the event, \u201cI volunteered to make a difference in someone’s life that is positive. I\u2019m not doing it to receive a thank you, but for the gratification of helping those who placed their lives on the line for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The event is free for all attendees. Employers can participate by\u00a0registering on the website. For information on event sponsorship opportunities, contact the Office for Career Connections. All proceeds from the event will be given to the Wounded Warrior Project. Event sponsors to date include Hilton Grand Vacations and a number of business units within UCF including Business Services, Facilities & Safety, and the Veterans Academic Resource Center.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am proud that our MBA students are coordinating this inaugural Veteran\u2019s Career Fair, and pleased to see that it benefits the Wounded Warrior Project,\u201d said\u00a0Paul Jarley<\/strong>, dean of the College of Business Administration. \u201cThis is a great way for us to give back to our community and to help veterans get back into the workforce.\u201d<\/p>\n
