<\/strong>Central Florida\u2019s home for PBS is now Emmy-award-winning, thanks to a regional victory for WUCF TV\u2019s locally produced community spotlight show, “ONE.”<\/p>\n

“ONE,” which tells the stories of the people and places that make Central Florida a unique place to live, was named best magazine program at the Suncoast Emmy Awards, held by the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.<\/p>\n

The chapter supports excellence in television across Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia and Puerto Rico, and each year honors outstanding achievements in content, creativity and execution.<\/p>\n

“ONE” producers Michael D. Nanus and Suhtling Wong were awarded for their stories about chickens in downtown Oviedo, student interns at the Back to Nature animal rescue and local racecar driver Ryan Rust.<\/p>\n

“‘ONE’ showcases intelligent and entertaining people, places and stories from right here in Central Florida,” said Grant J. Heston, UCF’s associate vice president for Communications & Public Affairs. “We hope viewers enjoy watching these stories as much as we enjoy telling them, because our community is an amazing place to live, work, learn and play.”<\/p>\n

WUCF TV launched July 1, 2011, providing uninterrupted access to PBS programming to more than 3.5 million Central Floridians across nine counties.<\/p>\n

Owned and operated by the University of Central Florida, WUCF TV recently acquired the broadcast license of the region’s former PBS broadcaster, offering three new channels and a stronger signal to provide programming that entertains, inspires and informs our community.<\/p>\n
