A current student and alumnus from UCF\u2019s Counselor Education program received awards from the Association for Assessment and Research in Counseling, part of the American Counseling Association.<\/p>\n
Patrick Mullen, a third-year doctoral student, received the Doctoral-Level Exemplary Research & Practice Award for his work in assessment.<\/p>\n
Christopher Christmas, who graduated from the PhD. program in summer, was honored with Donald Hood Student Research Award for his research and clinical practice. The annual grant recognizes and honors those seeking to complete research that shows promise for outstanding contributions to the counseling profession.<\/p>\n
AARC is a group of counselors, educators and other professionals that advances the counseling profession by promoting best practices in assessment, research and evaluation. The awards were presented during the organization\u2019s annual conference, which was held last week in Houston.<\/p>\n
UCF\u2019s Counselor Education program is housed within the College of Education and Human Performance. The program is designed to prepare students interested in working as counselors and practitioners in schools, community mental health settings, institutions, hospitals, and private practice.<\/p>\n
