{"id":52694,"date":"2013-09-09T13:59:53","date_gmt":"2013-09-09T17:59:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=52694"},"modified":"2013-09-09T14:03:11","modified_gmt":"2013-09-09T18:03:11","slug":"wucf-tv-names-its-first-director-of-finance-accounting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/wucf-tv-names-its-first-director-of-finance-accounting\/","title":{"rendered":"WUCF TV Names Its First Director of Finance &amp; Accounting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WUCF TV, Central Florida&#8217;s PBS station licensed to the University of Central Florida, welcomes a new Director of Finance &amp; Accounting.<\/p>\n<p>Rita Echeverria\u00a0joined the staff on Aug. 30, after serving two years as the Assistant Director of Finance and Accounting for the University of Central Florida College of Medicine-Regional Extension Center.<\/p>\n<p>Echeverria will direct all aspects of the station&#8217;s finances, including development of the station&#8217;s annual operating budget and oversight of all revenue streams. She also will oversee all compliance requirements of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to her tenure at the UCF College of Medicine, Echeverria spent more than 17 years as an accountant for real estate management companies, an auditor for medium- and large-size CPA firms and as a Controller for a real estate developer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Rita joins us at a time when <a href=\"http:\/\/wucftv.org\/\">WUCF TV<\/a> is growing to provide new programming to our viewers and services throughout the community,&#8221; said Polly Anderson, Executive Director of WUCF TV. &#8220;Her valuable experiences in the private sector and working for the new College of Medicine at UCF will help us as we build the nation&#8217;s newest PBS station here in Central Florida.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Echeverria received her bachelor&#8217;s degree in Commerce and Accounting from Assumption College in the Philippines.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About WUCF TV<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WUCF TV is the PBS member station whose mission is to inform, inspire and entertain nearly 4 million Central Floridians across nine counties.
