{"id":59479,"date":"2014-05-14T10:34:23","date_gmt":"2014-05-14T14:34:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=59479"},"modified":"2020-08-25T11:59:31","modified_gmt":"2020-08-25T15:59:31","slug":"ceremony-commemorates-ucfs-eternal-knights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/ceremony-commemorates-ucfs-eternal-knights\/","title":{"rendered":"Ceremony Commemorates UCF\u2019s &#8216;Eternal Knights&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On April 9, the UCF flag hung half staff \u00a0in front of Millican Hall as the UCF community honored 12 students who passed away during the past academic year at the Eternal Knights Memorial Service.<\/p>\n<p>In its 13th year, Eternal Knights recognizes students\u2019 family and friends as the university community joins together to remember loved ones and offer condolences.<\/p>\n<p>During the eulogy, students were individually recognized and given the title, \u201cEternal Knight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the ceremony, students, faculty and staff members from across the main campus and UCF\u2019s Regional Campus communities commemorated the lives of lost students by participating in a 30-second moment of silence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEternal Knights is an opportunity for our entire campus community to come together and reach out to the families and friends of our fellow Knights who have passed.
