The next generation of engineers who will create electric vehicles<\/a> of the future can jump into the drivers seat at UCF.<\/p>\n

University of Central Florida\u2019s LEAD Scholars Academy and the Electric Vehicle Transportation Center will host a conference from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Cape Florida Ballroom in the Student Union to encourage undergraduate students to learn more about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) careers related to the field of electric vehicles.<\/p>\n

There will be speakers, demonstrations and lunch for all students who attend. Registration is required online at http:\/\/ucf.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_0pnvk0bcpiI7bDv<\/a> and remains open through Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Among the speakers are: Anne-Louise Seabury, electric vehicle program manager for Florida Power & Light; Britta K. Gross, director of advance vehicle commercialization policy for General Motors; and Jennifer Szaro, renewable-energy manager for Orlando Utilities Commission.<\/p>\n

Presentations will be made indoors until 1:50 p.m. Afterwards there will be demonstrations of vehicles near Memory Mall until 3 p.m.<\/p>\n
