Whether to pursue a graduate education is one of the biggest decisions individuals make for their future. On Tuesday, Sept. 15, the University of Central Florida\u2019s College of Graduate Studies will host its annual Grad Fair from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Pegasus Ballroom of the Student Union to point prospective students in the right direction.<\/p>\n
Regardless of the reason one may choose a graduate education, the first step is being informed about the options. One of the best ways to do so is to attend the Grad Fair, an open house for the public to learn more about the university\u2019s nearly 200 graduate programs, including master\u2019s, doctoral and specialist, and certificate programs.<\/p>\n
More than 1,200 people attended the fair last year, and there are nearly 8,000 graduate students currently enrolled at UCF.<\/p>\n
Graduate school is a good choice when the graduate degree will provide entry into an individual\u2019s desired profession or advance their career. \u00a0While making the decision, individuals may also want to consider that 7.4 percent of the population 18 and older hold a master\u2019s degree, while 1.5 percent have earned a doctorate, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Completing a graduate education is a great way to stand out in the workforce and increase career opportunities for a brighter future.<\/p>\n
The Grad Fair is an opportunity to talk one-on-one with faculty and staff representing programs that interest you. Graduate admissions and financials staff members will also be on hand to discuss the variety of admissions options that UCF offers, as well as information on the fellowships, assistantships, and financial aid that are available.<\/p>\n
