The University of Central Florida and Universal Orlando Resort have partnered on a first-of-its-kind creative collaboration at Halloween Horror Nights, providing 25 students with an exclusive filmmaking opportunity. Their videos debut today on Universal Orlando\u2019s blog and YouTube channel.<\/p>\n
Students from the Nicholson School of Communication were given special access by Universal Orlando to capture footage during the Halloween event in its 25th year. They filmed park visitors as they experienced all-immersive haunted houses, scare zones and live shows at the event.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can\u2019t wait to see how students combine their studies with artistic vision to tell the Halloween Horror Nights story,\u201d said Donna Mirus Bates, senior vice president of marketing communications and content development for Universal Orlando. \u201cThis is the first time we\u2019ve ever done a partnership like this, and we\u2019re thrilled to share the students\u2019 work with our fans.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone had a great time and got some good footage and experience from it,\u201d said Lexi Loccisano, a senior radio\/television student. \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to creating my video.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tim Brown, associate director of the Nicholson School of Communication, said the school jumped at the opportunity to partner with Universal Orlando.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe best part is that the students are coming from all areas of the school, and they\u2019re helping each other learn different aspects of media that they might not normally study,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Students edited their footage into three-minute videos that are featured on Universal Orlando\u2019s YouTube page and blog.
