{"id":78940,"date":"2017-09-22T09:00:34","date_gmt":"2017-09-22T13:00:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=78940"},"modified":"2019-09-26T06:11:57","modified_gmt":"2019-09-26T10:11:57","slug":"ucf-heart-day-hands-cpr-aed-training-wednesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/ucf-heart-day-hands-cpr-aed-training-wednesday\/","title":{"rendered":"UCF Heart Day: Hands-Only CPR, AED Training Wednesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In anticipation of World Heart Day, UCF Heart Day will provide free hands-only CPR instruction to the UCF community on Wednesday, Sept. 27.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-minute hands-only CPR sessions will be offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Key West Ballroom of the Student Union (Room 218).\u00a0 The sessions will also include instruction on the use of AEDs and information about heart health.<\/p>\n<p>Hands-only CPR is cardiopulmonary resuscitation without mouth-to-mouth. It is recommended for use by people who see a teen or adult suddenly collapse in an \u201cout-of-hospital\u201d setting, such as at home, work, or in a public place.<\/p>\n<p>UCF Heart Day is a collaboration among UCF Environmental Health and Safety, the Department of Security and Emergency Management, the UCF Police Department, UCF Student Government Association, Orange County Fire Rescue, and other community partners.<\/p>\n<p>World Heart Day will be celebrated across the globe on Friday, Sept. 29.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"In anticipation of World Heart Day, UCF Heart Day will provide free hands-only CPR instruction to the UCF community on Wednesday, Sept. 27.
