At a regular meeting of the university\u2019s Board of Trustees, President Hitt praised Provost Hickey for his \u201cextraordinary leadership\u201d to the university during his seven years as UCF\u2019s chief academic officer.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with genuine regret that I announce Terry\u2019s retirement. During his tenure, Terry restructured our colleges to better serve the size and complexity of our university,\u201d President Hitt said. \u201cHis support for the professoriate has inspired a vibrant scholarship of teaching and learning initiative and has also created new career paths for professionals.
