To qualify for the Knights Care Leave Share program, you must be in a position where you’re still accruing leave time, but have exhausted all of your personally accrued time (e.g., annual, sick, emergency paid sick leave or emergency family and medical leave under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, compensatory leave, etc.). You will be paid at your normal rate of compensation.

If you have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and have exhausted all of your personally accrued leave, you may qualify for the Knights Care Leave Share program. Examples of hardship include:

  • Personal medical emergencies
  • Quarantine and/or self-isolation mandates
  • Inability to work or telework due to the government stay-at-home order

Please note: Post-doctoral employees, medical residents and OPS employees are not eligible to receive leave under this disaster leaving sharing plan.
