BIOGRAPHY:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mohsen joined the CoRE Lab at UCF as a postdoctoral researcher in Fall 2025, working under the supervision of Dr. Thomas Wahl. He completed his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at Oregon State University in Summer 2025 and holds an M.S. from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC, 2018) and a B.S. from Sharif University of Technology (SUT, 2017). Mohsen has held several research and teaching assistantship appointments at OSU, UIC, and SUT.<\/p>\n

RESEARCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mohsen\u2019s doctoral research focused on climate-change impacts on coastal systems, using hydrodynamic models and satellite remote sensing to assess shoreline evolution and flood risk in the U.S. Pacific Northwest. His previous work covers climate-change impacts on coastal flooding and temperature extremes, as well as hydrodynamic and estuarine circulation modeling. Mohsen’s publications include articles in Scientific Reports, Estuarine, Coastal and Shelf Science, Cambridge Prisms: Coastal Futures, and Communications Earth & Environment. He is also a co-author of the Sixth Oregon Climate Assessment. Mohsen\u2019s work at the CoRE Lab focuses on developing numerical models to simulate the mutual interactions between coastal geomorphological changes and compound flooding. His research contributes to more efficient and accurate assessments of the hazards that compound flooding events pose to coastal systems.<\/p>\n
