Andrade Barron<\/a>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BIOGRAPHY: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Laura joined Dr. Kelly Kibler\u2019s Ecohydraulics Lab in the Fall of 2024 as a master\u2019s student. She holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca and a master\u2019s degree in Geoinformation Sciences and Earth Observation from the Universidad Mayor de San Andr\u00e9s, both in her home country of Bolivia. Laura earned the Latin American Scholarship, which made it possible for her to continue her graduate education in the United States. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Water Resources.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"216\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6154 img-fluid aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/02\/LA2-300x216.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/02\/LA2-300x216.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/02\/LA2-360x259.jpg 360w, https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/02\/LA2.jpg 364w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESEARCH: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Laura\u2019s research focuses on stormwater management, specifically simulating and predicting water flow and nutrient leaching in native Florida sandy soils under various hydrologic scenarios. She has also worked on living shoreline prioritization and hydrodynamic habitat suitability modeling to support restoration efforts in the Indian River Lagoon and Lake Worth Lagoon, Florida, using GIS tools.
