Dear Fall Graduates,

Congratulations on your upcoming UCF graduation!

Although we cannot hold in-person commencement ceremonies right now, we want to give you an opportunity to celebrate your graduation on campus and in person with a small group of guests this fall. We are launching a new Grad Walk that will complement our enhanced virtual commencement ceremonies, which will be held on Saturday, Dec. 19.

Grad Walk

We invite you to walk across our commencement stage, which will be set up for six days in November in the Student Union, with up to four loved ones or friends in attendance. Your name will be read aloud, and your family and friends can take video or pictures of the moment.

Regalia is optional. Our official graduation photographer will be on hand, and graduation shirts and flowers, along with other commemorative items, will be available for purchase. We encourage you and your loved ones to also visit campus landmarks for additional photo opportunities.
The Grad Walk will be available to fall graduates from Saturday, Nov. 14, through Thursday, Nov. 19. It is before Thanksgiving since UCF is transitioning to remote learning following the Thanksgiving break.

We will be following UCF’s COVID-19 protocols. That includes required advance registration for a 15-minute time window for you and your guests. Face coverings, physical distancing and completion of the university’s COVID-19 symptom checker will be required, and the venue will be sanitized hourly.

More information about the Grad Walk is posted on the commencement website, and registrations for time slots are now available.

For those graduates who are unable to participate between Nov. 14-19, another window will be available on Dec. 18. Please note that spaces may be more limited that day because it also will be open to spring and summer graduates.

In addition to the Grad Walk, our 2020 graduates will have the option of celebrating their achievements at an in-person commencement ceremony. We do not know when we will be able to do that, and we will keep you updated on our plans.

Virtual Commencement

UCF will host a series of virtual commencement ceremonies on Saturday, Dec. 19. We will host college ceremonies throughout the day on UCF’s Facebook and YouTube pages. All ceremonies will be archived on our YouTube page afterward.

Each ceremony will include the reading of all of the graduates’ names from that college. A fun new enhancement is that graduates will be able to personalize their name recognition slide by adding a background, animation and sticker. The selections will appear on screen with the graduate’s name during their virtual ceremony. More information about this customization option and how to send in the phonetic pronunciation of your name will be sent to you at a later date via e-mail.

Our keynote speaker will be Suneera Madhani, Fattmerchant’s founder and chief executive officer. She is a payments and technology innovator who has catapulted her business idea from a startup to processing over $5 billion in payments.

For the schedule of virtual commencement ceremonies, please go to the commencement webpage.

We wish you the best this fall, and we look forward to celebrating with you soon!
