All of us must continue to practice the health and safety measures necessary to prevent further spread of COVID-19 at UCF.

Last week, Gov. DeSantis announced that Florida has entered Phase 3 of reopening. The governor’s announcement does not change UCF’s policies – all students, faculty and staff must wear a face covering indoors and outdoors, maintain physical distancing, and take other steps designed to protect public health, in accordance with UCF’s COVID-19 policies that remain in effect.

As a reminder, Orange County’s face mask mandate also remains in place until further notice, and it applies to all members of the UCF community and the public on and off campus. We are, however, reviewing how the governor’s action may impact enforcement for other areas of our policies for visitors. UCF retains the ability to enforce its COVID-19 policies for students, faculty and staff, including appropriate action for repeated or willful noncompliance.

Overall, our students, faculty and staff have answered the call to Armor Up and protect each other by following our health measures, including regularly wearing face coverings. We are proud of what we have accomplished this semester and are looking forward to lasting compliance that allows our in-person classes and activities to continue.

It takes all of us doing our part, whether on or off campus, to protect ourselves and all members of the UCF community. We ask for your continued commitment to curbing further spread of COVID-19.

Armor Up, Knights — we are all in this together.
