Dear Summer Graduate,

The State University System of Florida has directed UCF and all state universities to develop alternate plans for summer commencement ceremonies. Regrettably, this means UCF will be unable to host a traditional ceremony for our summer graduates until it is safe to do so.

We understand that commencement ceremonies are a major milestone in the lives of our graduates and the loved ones who have supported them on their education journey. That’s why the University is working with Student Government to ensure that our students’ accomplishments are creatively celebrated on August 1, 2020. We will share more information on https://commencement.ucf.edu as soon as it’s available. UCF alumnus and top Disney executive George Kalogridis will deliver video remarks to graduates.

As with the Spring 2020 virtual commencement, this acknowledgement is meant to complement, not replace, the traditional ceremony. The university is committed to rescheduling traditional Summer and Spring commencements at a future date.

Cap and gown rentals continue to be available for students who would like to take photos in their gowns. Alternatively, Herff Jones will refund students who prefer to cancel their cap and gown order completely.

More information about commencement and reimbursements will be made available on UCF’s https://www.ucf.edu/coronavirus/ and https://commencement.ucf.edu/.
