Dear Resident,

The Department of Housing and Residence Life wants to let you know before you leave for the break that all spring UCF Housing residents at the main, Rosen, and downtown campuses will be required to complete a mandatory COVID-19 test upon arrival.

We are currently working with Student Health Services to set up COVID-19 testing and check-in appointments in the housing portal.

  • Check-in appointments will be Jan. 7-10. You should not make travel plans until you secure a check-in appointment.
  • Residents will sign up for a check-in appointment that includes completion of a COVID-19 test before returning or checking in to your residential community.
  • This will be a rapid test, and a negative test result will be required to encode your keycard for the spring.

Students who test positive will have the opportunity to work with staff immediately for isolation arrangements or return home. We know you may have additional questions, and we will share more information about testing and return specifics in the coming weeks. Be sure to check your email, including during the holiday break, for this information and other important Housing updates.

Whether you are staying on campus or returning home for the winter break, we remind you to continue observing appropriate safety precautions, including wearing face coverings, maintaining physical distance, washing hands frequently and thoroughly, and using the COVID self-checker daily.

We hope you have a successful end to the fall semester. Enjoy your winter break!
