CREOL has partnered with Pangolin Laser Systems; a world renowned manufacturer of laser control systems, to put on a presentation about laser technology and how it is used in the entertainment industry. In addition to the presentation, Pangolin will perform a live laser light show for those in attendance.

Participate in activities and demonstrations including photovoltaics, solar thermal cooking, hydrogen fuel cell technology, and how to use solar in emergencies. Join FSEC’s director, Dr. Jim Fenton for a demonstration on “PV on your Roof and Pay $1.08 a Gallon” at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
2/27 1:30 P.M. – 2:30 P.M. Lasers – The Light Fantastic: Science and Applications from Pointers to DVDs by Dr. Peter J. Delfyett
This lecture will cover the basic principles of how lasers work and highlight several examples of real world applications, such as the CD or DVD player and fiber optic communications.  Simple principles will be accompanied with several ‘hands-on-demonstrations’.

The college will be rolling out the red carpet for the college’s fourth annual, all student-produced Cabaret & Cabernet (Cab & Cab) benefit. This year’s theme, “Hooray for Hollywood,” will celebrate the university’s 50th anniversary, as well as the Hospitality Management program’s 30th year, with an evening full of food, wine and live entertainment that highlights the golden ages of Hollywood. The Hollywood affair will feature comedic appearances by notable 1930’s movie stars; big band performances that include the best in jazz and swing of the 1950’s; and an interactive Hollywood game show. In addition to the live entertainment, Cabaret & Cabernet is also highlighted by its signature selection of food and wine pairings. Tickets for Cabaret & Cabernet are available now for $65, plus tax, which includes admission, parking, food and wine. Proceeds will support educational programs at UCF’s Rosen College.
