A NOTE FROM ALUMNI

FRANKIE CATALFUMO ’13

As an infection control epidemiologist at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Frankie Catalfumo ’13 helps keep patients and the public safe from health hazards, like COVID-19. But his experience in the field began when the health sciences grad got involved with the International Medical Outreach student organization and worked at a local hospital while completing his studies.

“Encouragement from a mentor at UCF and my hands-on experiences as a student ultimately guided me to my career, which allows me to help people and make a difference in my community.”
