The UCF Department of Emergency Management is actively monitoring Subtropical Storm Nicole for impacts to Central Florida.

UCF is in communication with the local National Weather Service and the National Hurricane Center to ensure the university has the latest information. Even if classes are canceled, UCF Housing will remain open and operational through the storm for all residents.

More information about how you can prepare for severe weather and UCF’s hurricane protocols are available at https://www.ucf.edu/hurricane/. Now is the time to prepare your hurricane kit, which should include enough food and water for three days, along with any necessary medications. More tips on preparing for a hurricane are available here and on the UCF Housing website. Hurricane season continues until November 30th.

The grocery shuttle will run today (Tuesday, November 8th). Shuttles run every 45 minutes from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will service the on-campus stops at Marketplace, Academic Village (Nike), Towers (front of Addition Financial Arena), and Lake Claire. Final departure from the University Palms Publix will be 8 p.m.

The UCF Alert text and email message system will be used to keep the university community informed. All students and employees automatically are signed up to receive these messages, and settings can be updated via https://www.getrave.com/login/ucf.
