Primary Logo

This stacked mark is now the primary logo of the university. It carries strong national recognition, brand equity and dynamic energy — and it aligns with how the world sees UCF.
This mark is shared with UCF Athletics, but there’s an important difference. The primary UCF logo is a different color: Bold Gold. This logo and the UCF Athletics logo are not interchangeable.
do
- Keep proper clear space around the logo
- Use only the approved UCF brand colors
- Scale proportionally from the vector source
- Maintain the outermost white border
DON’T
- Lock up the UCF logo with any text, or another entity’s name or logo.
- Recolor, reoutline, or add gradients, shadows or effects to the logo
- Stretch, condense, rotate or rebuild the logo
- Place the logo over busy photography or non-UCF brand colors
- Swap in the UCF Athletics logo (because it is not Bold Gold)
Important NoteS
- You must always maintain the outermost white border of the primary logo.
- Never lock up the logo with any text, or another entity’s name or logo. The UCF logo may never be used in a way that could be interpreted as a partnership, co-branding or similar relationship without explicit written permission from the Office of the President and/or University Brand and Marketing.
WHAT ABOUT THE PEGASUS TAB?
The Pegasus tab is not going away. It’s becoming more focused and meaningful, reserved for particular moments or on-campus instances.
Use the new stacked logo on new work. Existing materials can transition on their natural replacement cycle — there is no need to replace anything early.
The target date for all logo replacements is December 31, 2028.
Logo Clear Space Rules
For the UCF stacked logo, leave appropriate clear space around the logo between other design elements.
The minimum clear space around the mark must equal two-thirds the height of the “C,” including its outermost white border. Leave at least that much space around the entire perimeter of the mark.
Logo files downloaded from University Brand and Marketing’s official asset library are already set up with the appropriate amount of clear space.
Also note:
- Type, graphic elements and other logos must not intrude into the clear space
- Cut lines and folds must not intrude into the clear space

Logo Background Rules
The UCF logo should only be placed on black, white or neutral color backgrounds, including photos that have those background colors.
How To Request Logo Files
UCF logos are available by request for UCF faculty, staff or qualified vendors. Use of the UCF logo requires design approval from University Brand and Marketing. Contact us for logo files and design approval.
Alternative Logos
When the primary logo does not work with your layout, background or color limitations, you may use one of these approved alternatives.

Keep in Mind
Always prioritize using the primary logo unless it absolutely does not work in your creative.
do
- Keep proper clear space around the logo
- Use only the approved colors (single-color logos appear in black or white only)
- Scale proportionally from the vector source
- Maintain the outermost white border on the single-color white logo
- Use the single-color white logo on dark backgrounds
- Use the single-color black logo on light backgrounds
don’t
- Recolor, reoutline, or add gradients, shadows or effects to the logo
- Stretch, condense, rotate or rebuild the logo
- Place the logo over busy photography or non-UCF brand colors
University Signature
The words “University of Central Florida” should appear in external communications and marketing pieces in markets where audiences may not be familiar with the UCF brand.
For consistency, we have this university signature as a graphic element that should never be altered. Do not pair the university signature with, or lock it up to, the UCF stacked logo in any way.

Unit Identity Lockups (UILs)

A UIL distinguishes a specific unit of the university. It can be used in place of the primary logo when the context of the communication is specific to that unit. A UIL cannot be used in combination with the primary logo or with any other UIL.
As of Fall 2026, a UIL style transition is in progress. Units will be notified when new UILs are ready.
THINK YOU MAY NEED A UIL?
Request a UIL through University Brand and Marketing.
Do not attempt to create a UIL on your own — a “homemade” lockup weakens both the primary UCF logo and your mark.
University Seal

The university seal carries formal authority. UCF only uses it for ceremonial and official purposes, such as on diplomas, in communications from the president, in legal documents or on formal signage, where appropriate. The university seal is not a decorative alternative to the logo.
Reserved Use
Never use the university seal in marketing, merchandise or day-to-day communications. If you think you have a case to use the seal, you must request permission through the Office of the President.
Pegasus Tab

Pegasus has been a meaningful symbol of UCF since our origin — and it still is. Its role is simply more focused now, reserved for tradition, ceremony or the moments where our history is the story. Now we’ll primarily use Pegasus within the UCF campus, where it’ll continue to appear in building and wayfinding signage.
The Pegasus tab is a separate graphic element with its own placement and sizing rules. Check with University Brand and Marketing before trying to use the Pegasus tab in creative and we’ll help determine whether the situation calls for it.
Athletics Logos

UCF Athletics owns these logos and any official variations, only to be used for UCF sports marketing or teams. An exception is the SpaceU logo, which University Brand and Marketing may use in official UCF Space Week assets that colleges, departments and units may have access to for official use during that initiative.
These logos have their own rules, governed by UCF Athletics and managed separately from University Brand and Marketing.
These logos are not interchangeable with the university’s primary logo.
