UCF’s African American Studies Program is looking for high school and college students and community members to honor at its annual Dr. John T. Washington Community Service Awards and Scholarship Luncheon.

The luncheon and awards ceremony honor the legacy of former UCF professor and university leader John T. Washington by celebrating citizens who participate in community and civic programs throughout Central Florida. The awards recognize people who exemplify Washington’s humanitarian and scholarly qualities.

This year’s luncheon will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, in the Cape Florida Ballroom of the Student Union on UCF’s main campus. The deadline to apply for the scholarship and awards is Friday, March 19.

Applications are available online at https://africana.cah.ucf.edu/.
