Students from across the University of Central Florida are invited to meet Alvin Davis, the Florida Department of Education’s 2012 Teacher of the Year.

Davis, a music teacher at Miramar High School, is Broward County’s Teacher of the Year for 2012. He was selected for the state recognition in July for his commitment to inspiring students and keeping them on track for college.

Davis will meet with UCF faculty, administrators and students during his visit on Monday, Sept. 19.

There will be a question and answer session with Davis from 11 a.m. to noon in Teaching Academy room 117 followed by a lunch from noon to 1 p.m. in Teaching Academy room 103. Attendees are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch to “Lunch with a ToY (Teacher of the Year).”
