Today is the UCF Founders’ Day Honors Convocation that recognizes faculty, staff members and students for outstanding teaching, research, professional service and years of dedication to the university. Awards include Pegasus Professors, UCF Reach for the Stars, exceptional student achievements and others.

The ceremony is 3-5 p.m. in the Pegasus Ballroom of the Student Union. The doors open at 2:30 p.m.

Some of the award recipients have already been named and can be seen at constituents.ucf.edu/foundersday. The other awards that will be named today will be added to the list after the ceremonies.

One of the new awards is for Collective Excellence, which was created to recognize innovations from across the university to help reach the goals laid out in the Collective Impact Strategic Plan.

Other awards to be named at the ceremony are:

  • The University Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching
  • The University Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching
  • The University Award for Excellence in Research
  • The University Award for Excellence in Professional Academic Advising
  • The University Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Faculty Academic Advising
  • The Award for Excellence in Librarianship
