As part of AOL Inc.’s commitment to expand its reach in the US and continue to attract top talent, the company announced today that it is opening a new office in downtown Orlando, Florida. The majority of the 3,000 sq ft. office will house a portion of AOL’s Publishing Engineering Team which is responsible for the delivering AOL’s premium content to users around the world.

“As our team continues to grow, it is important for us to have a space that enables us to meet together as a team to collaborate with each other,” said Gavin Hall, Vice President of Global Publishing. “In addition, we hope the new office will help us attract top technology and business leaders from the area Central Florida universities.”

The office was designed to foster collaboration and creativity and includes a “war room” style layout along with conference rooms for meetings and offices for visiting AOL team members. Environmental factors also contributed to the design of the office. In addition to reducing waste and conserving water, recycled materials are used throughout the office.

The office will officially open on Friday, February 18, 2011 where the team will host an open house event and BBQ for the local community.
