The Rosen College of Hospitality Management is pleased to announce the appointments of Dr. Tadayuki Hara for the position of Associate Dean for Administration and Finance and Dr. Youcheng (Raymond) Wang for the position of Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Research.

Dr. Hara, who has been serving the Rosen College as an Interim Associate Dean since 2008, joined the faculty in 2005 as an Associate Professor of Finance and Tourism Management and is a full-time Senior Research Fellow with the Dick Pope, Sr.  Institute for Tourism Studies.  Prior to his appointment with UCF, Dr. Hara taught quantitative tourism industry analysis at School of Hotel Administration, Cornell University, resulting in solo-authored technical textbook of the same name from Elsevier and served as a research fellow through their Center for Hospitality Research.  Currently, over 80 peer-reviewed and invited papers have been published together with over 70 presentations and speeches delivered internationally.  Additionally, he spent 17 years with the Industrial Bank of Japan (currently Mizuho Corporate Bank) as a senior manager and in the public sector at the Japanese Embassy in Egypt and the Near Eastern Bureau of Japanese Foreign Ministry as an Assistant Director in charge of Middle East Multilateral Peace Process. Dr. Hara holds a Ph.D., M.S. in Regional Science and an MPS in Hotel Administration from Cornell University, an MBA from University of Glamorgan, Wales, UK, and a B.S in Law from Sophia University, Tokyo, Japan.  Dr. Hara serves the  global community both as an Advisory Committee member for International Trends on Tourism Statistics at Japan Tourism Agency (JTA) in Japan, and as an Associate Partner at International Network on Regional Economics, Mobility and Tourism (INRouTe) for United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in Madrid, Spain.   He also serves the local community as a Board member of Preservation of Eatonville Community (PEC) to enhance its annual “Zora! Festival” while serving as a chair of the PEC’s Strategic Committee.

Dr. Wang joined the Rosen College of Hospitality Management in 2003 and is currently an Associate Professor with the college. Dr. Wang’s research and teaching interest focuses on tourism destination marketing/management, customer relationship management, destination image and branding, information search behavior, collaborative strategies, and technology management and e-commerce in hospitality and tourism. He is the author of two books and more than 90 refereed publications in academic journals, book chapters and proceedings of international conferences, and has received several awards for his contributions to research. He is the author and editor of another two books in the area of tourism destination marketing/management which are scheduled to be published in late 2010. Dr. Wang is on the Editorial Board of eight academic journals. He was also a guest editor for the International Journal of Hospitality Management and Worldwide Hospitality and Tourism Themes. Dr. Wang has consulting experience in the areas of destination marketing, technology and e-commerce strategies for hospitality and tourism organizations, collaborative strategies for regional destination marketing and management. He is a frequent speaker at international conferences and industry forums and has been included in Who’s Who in America for his notable achievement in his field. Before joining the Rosen College of Hospitality Management, he held several management positions including the General Manager of a technology service company, Assistant General Manager of a front office in a four-star hotel in Beijing, Associate Director of International Programs at Beijing Institute of Tourism, Beijing Union University. Dr. Wang holds a Master’s degree from Purdue University and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois.
