UPDATE: Vice President Joe Biden’s visit to UCF has been postponed. We look forward to welcoming the Vice President to our campus at a later date.

On Thursday, September 5, Vice President Joe Biden will visit the University of Central Florida to discuss the importance of ensuring that every American has the opportunity to attain a quality education.

The Vice President will highlight the plan that President Obama recently laid out to make college more affordable, tackle rising costs, and improve the value of higher education for students and their families as part of his commitment to offering a better bargain for the middle class.

The event will be held in the Pegasus Ballroom of the UCF Student Union. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m.

A limited number of tickets will be available for students on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets can be picked up at the following locations starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday, September 3.

Student Union: First Floor Guest Services Kiosk (Across from the Pegasus Ballroom)

Recreation and Wellness Center: Member Services Desk (Main Lobby)

Each student can pick up one ticket with a valid UCF student ID.

All attendees will go through airport-like security and should bring as few personal items as possible. No bags, sharp objects, umbrellas, liquids, or signs will be allowed in the venue. Cameras are permitted.

This will be Biden’s second campus visit. He served as commencement speaker for Florida Technological University in 1978 when he was a U.S. senator. He was the final commencement speaker for FTU since the university’s name changed to UCF in December of that year.
